Overview of Content Management System
Content Management System is defined as a computer application that is used to manage, create, edit and search various kinds of electronic text and digital media. We can also that it is a system used to manage the content of a website. The main objective of using CMS is for storing, versioning, controlling and publishing specific documentation. It may be news articles, sales guide, marketing brochures, and technical manuals and so on. Managed content may be in the form of video files, image files, computer files, electronic documents or web contents.
I believe that following features should be supported by a good CMS:
1. It must have the ability to capture contents for example scanning.
2. It must have the ability to detect multiple versions of content.
3. It should identify all of its key users and the content management roles.
4. It should have the ability to assign responsibilities to different content roles.
5. It should have the ability to autocorrect font, colour or text.
There is a list of Content Management Systems that allows you to organise and to provide facilitation to your content work.
There are different areas of CMS that is Web Content Management, digital asset management, and Digital Record Management and so on.
